October 24th, 2023 First Test Drive Today was a very big day. It was test drive day. The Capri ran quite well so I backed out of the garage, drove up the hill and came back. On the second try, I barely made it out of the driveway. There is a fuel starvation issue that seems to be the electric fuel pump. I ordered a new one and will get it going again. Overall, a huge success. Before closing shop for the day, I added the face back to the car.

October 23rd, 2023 Fluids I may not have many pictures today, but I did a lot. First, I drained the oil and attacked the filter. It didn't come off easily and I couldn't find my filter wrench so I had to stab it with a screwdriver. Even then it didn't come off easily.  Next, I checked the fluids on the transmission and rear diff. They were fine but they will be changed in the near future.  Finally, I drained the cooling system and filled it with Blue Devil flush and water. I will run it for a bit and leave it in there until after my test drive and then flush it out. So far there aren't any cooling system leaks and it flows very well.

October 22nd, 2023 Windows and latches Today I worked on the driver's door. The window was out of the track and the door wouldn't open from the inside. Removed Door Card. The plastic liner mostly intact The window track in the front and the crank mechanism needed to be loosened to be able to put the window back in place. I cleaned the tracks and lubed it all. It'll work for now but will need to be worked on more in the future. Broken inside door pull. I bet this will be hard to find. When done, I put on the copper Historic Vehicle plate.

October 20th, 2023 Carb Rebuild The next step to making the Capri run better is a carb rebuild. This is the before pic on the car of the Weber 5200 New gaskets, parts and a thorough cleaning. New fuel filter and it's back on the car. Will it run better? YES!!!! Here it is with the air cleaner back on.

October 16th, 2023 Wheels and Thermostat Housing Now that the brakes are sorted, the wheels went back on The original thermostat housing was in poor condition so I replaced it with one from the 1974 donor car.

October 14th, 2023 New Brake Parts The rear brakes were attacked first. I replaced the drivers side without problem, but the passenger side is a little different. The brake line comes in and continues to the other side, no bleed screw. I didn't replace it yet but will research further. The flexible hose was completely plugged, so it was replaced.  Next, the front calipers were replace with the rebuilt units. The lines were cleaned out and the master cylinder was cleaned and flushed. After a brake bleed, the brakes work(mostly)

October 9th, 2023 Back to it, Finally It's been a long, hot summer here in Phoenix. We also picked up a puppy (English Cocker Spaniel) so that took priority but I am back at it. The Capri was moved back in to the garage and the put up on stands, ready to get some brakes.

June 24th, 2023 Caliper rebuild I was able to get the pistons out of the calipers. I had to soak them in solvent and that did the trick. New seals and rubbers and all is good.

May 31st, 2023 Partial Tune up I started out the day with a little disassembly of the front calipers. I quickly realized that the pistons were very stuck in the bores so I moved on to other items. Next, I moved on to plugs, wires, cap and rotor. The old parts were well worn and they were in need of an update. Next, I removed the decel valve to try to combat a massive vacuum leak. It didn't solve my poor running problem, but I'm getting closer
