November 8th, 2023 Mirrors I ordered some mirrors from Amazon since all of the mirrors on the car were bad. The rear view is a suction cup mount. The exterior mirrors really don't fit the character of the car, but they are functional.

November 7th, 2023 Interior Bits I fit the carpet as well as I could. It's not meant for this car and has been cut up by the previous owner. I put it in there and steamed it as well as I could. I also added the console back in and popped holes for the seats and seat belts. The covers don't fit as well as hoped but they were quite inexpensive. They are an interim step in the process. I have been trying to diagnose a problem with the electric gauges not working. I took the voltage regulator off of the donor instrument cluster, hoping that would fix it. Nope. I'll keep digging. I pulled the instrument voltage regulator out to see if this was the problem. It appears to work as designed. Onward and upward.

November 6th, 2023 Cooling System and Interior Today, I finished the flush of the cooling system. Backflush, rinse and fill with anti-freeze. When I got the car, the fan shroud was broken, so I plastic welded it back together. I removed the radiator, installed the shroud and filled the system. Next, I removed the seats and tried to fit the carpet that I got with the car. It's obviously not for this car, but it should help with the look until better carpet can be sourced. Again, Rosie the supervisor.

November 5th, 2023 Steering and Drive When I got the car, the steering wheel had been removed. The nut was gone. I went to the local Ace Hardware to see what I could find. I picked up two metric and two SAE. It turned out to be SAE. It's nice to have a steering wheel that doesn't come off in my hands. I also picked up a new door pull from a local Capri enthusiast, Mike. Works perfect. It wouldn't be a good day working on the car without a test drive. Here is my return after a couple of mile drive.

November 2nd, 2023 Windows and Doors The windows would not work on either door so it was time to fix that. I removed the door cards, the plastic backing and got to work. They were both very stuck but some lube and cleaner got things moving. My shop buddy, Rosie, likes to help out, too. She is a good supervisor.

November 1st, 2023 Ignition and Brakes I'm back in business. Thanks to fellow Capri enthusiast, Mike, here in Phoenix, I was able to get a new ignition switch installed. It worked great! Thanks, Mike Before After...I received a new mechanical fuel pump. Time to ditch the electric pump. Next, I tackled the rear brakes. The wheel cylinder on the driver's side blew so, it was time to repair and replace both of the rears.

October 26th, 2023 Fuel Pump and Ignition Switch It was time to do a little clean-up in the engine bay. I removed the A/C drier(I think) and mounted the electric fuel pump in it's place. I also added an inline fuel filter. After that, I went to start the car to make sure it was all still working. Wow, bummer. The ignition switch fell apart. That shuts me down for a bit.
