1973 Mercury Capri

  February 22nd, 2024 - Trim When the previous owner shot the car with white primer, there was so much overspray on the windows, bumper and trim pieces. I removed the worst trim pieces, cleaned them up as much as possible and repainted them. They are not perfect or completely correct, but this is what I am going to use at this time.   February 19th, 2024 - Color Match The previous owner painter sections on the car with white primer. Since there was little to no body work done before the white was applied, it is all going to be striped off anyway, so it was time to have the car be all one similar shade. This looks so much better.

February 3rd, 2024 - New Shoes The tires that were on the Capri when I got it were in pretty poor condition. I drove on them for a bit, but was not comfortable with it. It was time for some new tires. I went to Discount Tires and bought an inexpensive set but they are so much better! They look pretty good on the car, too

   January 28th, 2024 - Restoring the Wheels The first real cosmetic update was started today. It was time to restore the wheels. The wheels started out rather grungy with some light rust, but no damage I started out by painting the wheels with a base coat of silver After taping them off(whew, what a job!) I shot them with gloss black. The end result was pretty good.
